><p>This pathway includes a broad coverage of nutrition and food science.\u00a0 Food, Nutrition and Wellness is an essential course in understanding nutritional needs and food choices for optimal health of individuals across the lifespan.\u00a0 Interrelationships with wellness are explored.<\/p>\n<p>Food for Life is an advanced course that addresses the variation in nutritional needs at specific stages of the human life cycle:\u00a0 lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood including old age.<\/p>\n<p>Food Science integrates many branches of science and relies on the application of the rapid advances in technology to expand and improve the food supply.\u00a0 Students will evaluate the effects of processing, preparation, and storage on the quality, safety, wholesomeness, and nutritive value of foods.\u00a0 Food Science and Food for Life also count as a 4th science elective.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
