Contact the program coordinator (Traci Owens) to find out if you qualify. Requests for accommodations on the SAT or ACT are submitted by Mary Lawson for students who qualify.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Fee Waivers for National Testing<\/td>\n<td>Students from low income households may be eligible for a fee waiver for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/collegereadiness.collegeboard.org\/pdf\/sat-fee-waiver-student-brochure.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SAT<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/dam\/act\/unsecured\/documents\/FeeWaiver.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACT<\/a>. The test is three hours long and tests Reading, Writing, Math (no calculator) and Math (with calculator). The test is 2 hours and 55 minutes long. It includes a 35 minute Reading section, a 45 minute English section, a 60 minute Math section, and a 35 minute Science section.\u00a0 Scores range from 1-36.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/join-armed-forces\/asvab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASVAB<\/a><\/td>\n<td>If you\u2019re interested in joining the military, then you should take the\u00a0<strong>Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)<\/strong>.\u00a0The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/collegereadiness.collegeboard.org\/psat-nmsqt-psat-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PSAT<\/a><\/td>\n<td>The PSAT\/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT\/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT, and even the ACT, but it\u2019s more than just a trial run. PSAT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships.\u00a0More than 3.4 million high school students (mostly juniors and sophomores) take this nationwide, multiple-choice test every year during October.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/apstudent.collegeboard.org\/exploreap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP Testing<\/a><\/td>\n<td><b>AP<\/b>\u00a0exams are college-level\u00a0<b>tests<\/b>\u00a0administered by The College Board (makers of the SAT). Students may take\u00a0<b>tests<\/b>\u00a0in one or more subjects; a comprehensive list of all available\u00a0<b>AP<\/b>\u00a0courses and\u00a0<b>tests<\/b>\u00a0is available at collegeboard.com.\u00a0 Students take\u00a0<b>AP<\/b>\u00a0exams in May and receive their scores in July.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibo.org\/programmes\/diploma-programme\/assessment-and-exams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IB Testing<\/a><\/td>\n<td>\n<p class=\"u-textLarger u-textLightWeight\">The International Baccalaureate\u00ae (IB) assesses student work as direct evidence of achievement against the stated goals of the Diploma Programme (DP) courses.<\/p>\n<div class=\"u-cf\">DP assessment procedures measure the extent to which students have mastered advanced academic skills in fulfilling these goals, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>analysing and presenting information<\/li>\n<li>evaluating and constructing arguments<\/li>\n<li>solving problems creatively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Basic skills are also assessed, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>retaining knowledge<\/li>\n<li>understanding key concepts<\/li>\n<li>applying standard methods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to academic skills, DP assessment encourages an international outlook and intercultural skills, wherever appropriate.Student results are determined by performance against set standards, not by each student\u2019s position in the overall rank order.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gadoe.org\/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment\/Assessment\/Pages\/EOC-Study-Resource-Guides.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgia Milestones EOC Tests<\/a><\/td>\n<td>The Georgia Milestones End of Course Tests (EOC)High school students\u00a0take an end-of-course assessment for each of the ten\u00a0courses designated by the State Board of Education. Scores earned on the EOC assessments account for 20% of the student\u2019s final grade in an EOC course.<\/p>\n<p>Features the Georgia Milestone Assessment System include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>open-ended (constructed-response) items in English Language\u00a0Arts and mathematics (all grades and courses);<\/li>\n<li>a writing component (in response to passages read by students) at every grade level and course within the English Language Arts assessment;<\/li>\n<li>norm-referenced items in all content areas and courses, to complement the criterion-referenced information and to provide a national comparison.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>PPPAs<\/td>\n<td>PPPAs are assessments that are given at the beginning and the end of a course.
